Southern Pacific ends mile age tickets in favor of scrip books
On September 30 the Southern Pacific Railroad Company stopped selling mile age tickets. Exchange Scrip Books will be issued instead, not valid for train passage but redeemable at ticket offices for tickets. Priced at $40 with a one year validity, scrip can be exchanged for trips between Nevada and Utah stations. A 25 percent rebate is credited to passengers using the scrip as directed. Eureka and Palisade Railway will honor the exchange scrip for passage on its line.
