Nevada Legislature Work Stressed Over Emphasis on Senator Election

Editorial notes the 1904 Nevada legislature should focus on local needs rather than the U S Senate race. It criticizes nominating conventions for prioritizing national figures over state welfare, urging candidates to outline Nevada relief and growth measures, especially for mining, agriculture, and public lands. The piece also records Republican county sentiments supporting McKinley’s memory, party unity, and policy pledges, including labor, silver, and fish and game laws.

The assessor valued the road at 1500 per mile while the company argued it was worth less than 700 per mile. Also noted is the Reno Journal receiving a new linotype machine and rival papers Tonopah Bonanza Tonopah Miner and Carson Appeal obtaining similar equipment.
