Stricken Manager Receives Care After Paralysis Attack

J H Rogers resident manager of the Richmond Eureka Mining Company was stricken with paralysis at his home Tuesday. Robert Harvey night watchman found him on a couch with a lit candle, later seen sitting doubled over in a rocking chair. Neighbors and Dr Brennen attended, Rogers showing signs of improvement by Friday with slight use of his left leg and expected recovery ahead.

Laxton Awarded Five Thousand Dollars in Elko Suit

D B Laxton won a $5,000 verdict from Spruce Mountain Consolidated Mining in Elko County district court after about an hour of jury deliberation. The dispute centered on a contract to haul ore. Laxton claimed ore was not furnished, while the company argued it was offered and he refused. Attorneys said a motion for a new trial would be filed and an appeal to the Supreme Court if denied.

7000 Head Cattle Received at Lovelock

Lovelock November 21 large shipments of beef cattle from Idaho have flowed into the local stockyards for ten days. About five to fifteen cars daily handled by H. H. Neal. W. H. Cooper & Son of Winnemucca drove in 1000 head from Kennedy to winter here. Unike buys 400 head, Bolander ships to feed on H. Stoker ranch. Grayeon & Owens of San Francisco have buyers in Idaho for winter shipping. Total cattle into the valley this Fall about 7000 head plus 16000 to 20000 sheep being wintered here.

Washington November 21 A proposed bounty of 25 cents per pennyweight of gold produced in the United States was introduced by Senator Oddie Republican Nevada. He said the measure would offset higher production costs and boost gold output from 101 million dollars in 1915 to 50 million in 1921.

Tonopah houses the only post office in the state with a fingerprint identification system, per a department list received by Postmaster Jackson.
