Bad Man Breaks Jail in Caliente Escape

Daugherty, once suspected in the Roy Mills murder in Ogden, dug out of Caliente jail in Lincoln County and fled while awaiting transfer to Boise City Idaho. He had served three months of a three year sentence for robbery before his escape and claimed he and a man named Douglas now run a mine. Typhoid Fever In Sparks Dispatch

The Sacramento Bee reports typhoid fever cases in Sparks dated Oct 28, many among railroad workers. Several patients were hospitalized in California hospitals or sent to San Francisco for treatment.
