Worthless mining stock given to college sparks scandal

Dr James John alumnus of the medical college at Indianapolis loaned 15000 to cover college expenses after gifting 130000 in Oro Carita Mining stock. The stock sold for one cent on the dollar and funds were used amid embexzlement charges as John claimed no assets backing the company. He lived in a tent near Los Angeles when the corporation was formed.
