The Eureka Croesus mine reports two new ore bodies expanding in size and value, with six samples ranging from 112 to 756 per ton. One body is seven feet wide with walls untouched, while another lies parallel to a known feature and may extend deeper. Development and hauling continue despite snowbound roads.
Elmer Hylton a Mound Valley rancher and Musa Gobin of Eureka were united in marriage Sunday March Ath at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City. Both give Elko Nevada as their residence and plan a Salt Lake City honeymoon before returning to Eureka to begin life together. The couple has been a noted presence in Eureka social circles with Hylton frequenting local events from Elko County and his bride believed to have spent most of her life in Elko.
In Eureka Nevada work is suspended due to fuel oil shortages nationwide. Officials expect a new supply by April 1 as machinery awaits fuel to resume ore extraction. the delay affects mining activity and related charges as crews await the essential oil.
A Eureka County Republican Central Committee meeting failed to form a quorum to conduct a March 27 primary for two delegates to the Reno Republican Convention. With only seven of twenty present, the two delegates will be chosen at an April 4 meeting called by chairman W. R. Reynolds.

Shipping of high grade ore from the Holly mine resumed this week with 50 tons sent to the amelters. Regular shipments will continue as roads improve and mine development advances. New machinery is installed but circulating water tanks for two crude oil engines are delayed for about three weeks. Ore milling continues with existing power in the interim.
A decree of divorce was granted to Katherine Morse from C B Moran by Judge Peter Breen in the Third Judicial Court on cruelty grounds. Morse receives sole custody of their child Adna Frances Morse, with a visitation arrangement starting at age seven. The couple married in death.
Maral Br. Layee arrived in Bu Tek a this week to supervise the Holly mine during reform of antimony ore treatment. He runs a San Francisco plant and has studied economical ore reduction methods. Layng shows interest in Austin properties and Nevada mining conditions. A reduction method may be adopted by Eureka Holly mine officials as they plan a new plant.
A report from Ira MacFarland of the Titipah Basin Oil and Gas Co notes drilling at Illipah down to 400 feet shows oil in the lime shale layer. The well is slow but progressing, with weather and muddy roads hindering water, fuel, and supply transport.

A Carson special reports the Nevada Banking Board received an application to form the Eureka Bank & Trust Company with a $25,000 capital to conduct general banking. Named organizers include Frank L. Torres Charles B. Sexton and Julius Heubner.
Southern Pacific executives J M Patton B B Stinson and T Mergerson of Reno visited Eureka to study local conditions and gauge service satisfaction for returning owners. They noted mining potential, agricultural prospects between Eureka and Palisade, and promised ongoing visits to boost Nevada activity with rail support.
A Tonopah meeting will gather pine representatives on Monday afternoon March 22 to bolster relief legislation for gold producers. Governor Boyle Buckley Wells and other mining leaders are slated to attend as experts warn curtailment laws threaten mining activity nationwide.
John Zunino died at Eureka County Hospital last Monday at 5 30 am after several days of double pneumonia. Funeral services led by P H O Connor were conducted at the hospital with burial the following Tuesday afternoon. Born in Genoa Italy in 1847 he had lived in Eureka about 40 years and worked as a teamster. He is survived by a brother Antonia now ill at the hospital a wife and children still in Italy.
The latest metal quotations show Gilver priced at 1.21 dollars per unit with lead quoted abnormally.
The St Patrick ball held to aid the Bureke baseball team drew about 200 attendees from Palisade Carlin and surrounding county areas. A special train carried county residents to the event. Receipts totaled 170.50 with expenses of 28 for hall rent 40 for music 4.50 for printing and ads 17.05 for revenue tax leaving 85.95 in balance and officials hope to raise more if another event is held.
The Department of Justice announces a plan to save money by promoting cheaper meat during weeks in various states. Retail dealers will stock the cheaper cuts and urge customers to buy. The program runs March 22 to April 12 across multiple regions with differing start dates.
