Water Problems Disrupt Pine Valley Rail Service

High water in Pine Valley washed over tracks at the Jewell place and mud left on the roadbed caused engine derailment. Trains from Palisade were delayed or diverted for several days, with interruptions through Thursday and resumption by Friday afternoon as the Humboldt River rose and parts of the Palisade bridge were cut to prevent loss.

Death of Mrs. A C Cleveland in Reno

The friends of Mrs. A C Cleveland mourn her death in Reno on Tuesday at age 75. Widow of A C Cleveland, she lived near a ranch until his death fifteen years ago and spent her later years in Reno. Survived by sister Mrs Clara Dunwoody of Tonopah, her burial plans and a Jewish congregation's building effort in Reno are noted with a projected east Reno synagogue on West Street between Fourth and Fifth, with costs and fundraising details unclear.
