Jensen Creamery Co. indicted on trust charges across seven states

United States grand jury at Boise Idaho returned indictments against W F Jensen of Salt Lake president of Jensen Creamery Company and Metal Creamery Company plus eight corporations and eleven individuals for conspiracy and unlawful combination in restraint of interstate commerce under the Sherman Act. The firms operated in Utah Idaho Montana Washington Oregon Wyoming Nevada and California engaging in short weight fraud shifts of raw material and espionage to ruin competitors.

Big strike reported in mine near Palisade

Elko Independent notes a major strike at the Onondaga Mines Company property near Palisade. The mine, once owned by Raines and Eberts, is bonded and leased to Hal J. Sisty of Colorado and Elisha C. Mowry of Providence. The ore includes lead, silver, and copper with silver dominant. a leading expert foresees potential similar to the Comstock. Machinery orders indicate plans for extensive operation.

Lynn Big Six Sells Carload Ore at 60 a Ton

The Lynn Big Six Mining Company received another ore carload from its Lynn district in Eureka County Nevada. The thirty five ton lot is valued at about $2100 at $60 a ton. Superintendent W W Ruby accompanied the shipment to Salt Lake where the ore quality was confirmed. He reports three mill ore veins and nearing cross cut connections with promising production prospects.

Cyanide Shortage Affects Nevada Mines

In the Mining and Scientific Press lead editorial cyanide becomes scarcer amid war disruptions. Prices rise to 1.10 to 1.15 per pound. supply from Europe is limited. Scotland’s output is diverted for other colonies. imports vary with duties. Also, Elko Water & Light must supply 10 000 gallons monthly at 2 dollars, with excess billed at 10–17 cents per 1000 gallons, plus new wells and a 12 inch main.
