Water Turned into Canals seals Trackee Carson project

After three years of work the Trackee Carson irrigation project opened with water flowing into 6000 acres of land. Senators Newlands Dubois Flint and Representatives Jones Reeder Mandell Noodham Cooper christened the dam, with the Truckee and Carson rivers controlled to store water for future reclamation toward a 3,500,000 acre goal. The Nevada works demonstrate the government’s firm, large scale irrigation plan dependent on future reservoirs and storage.
