Road would run 650 miles from Anaconda Montana via Boise to Winnemucca Nevada entering Oregon then south to Winnemac on WP line. Backers intend 40 million capitalization with Amberton survey work and tonnage estimates. L C Leonard surfaced as Hill affiliate and key organizer.

State Office Burglarized After Vault Theft of $503.80
Authorities hunted a Sunday night burglar who opened the Surveyor General's vault and stole 503 dollars and 80 cents. Of the loot 150 dollars were in greenbacks, 260 in gold, 18.50 in silver belonging to the State, 45 in silver to Deputy Lota, and 120 to a Carson resident who had left the money for safekeeping. The thief used the combination and opened three drawers.
