Preparing Roads for Indiana Autoists
A party of about 95 Austin businessmen led by George Litater and others surveyed Lander County Nevada routes from Adello to Eureka and on to the Bureks line. They found rough spots and high centers but reported repairs made and the road in good order for the Indianapolis party due to pass July 1. They spoke with Commissioner Edger Sadler, who coordinated repairs at Reynolds or Kelly Creek where flood waters created a low-lying crossing. The effort aims to present a favorable route for a transcontinental highway and potentially benefit Koreks if Nevada routes are chosen.
