Favorable Outlook for Livestock Raisers
J Sheehan president of the Farmers and Merchants National Bank of Eureka attends the annual stockholders meeting and provides an optimistic forecast for the livestock industry. He cites breeding cow values around 45 to 69 dollars, wool at 20 cents per pound, and sheep prices up four dollars per head. He expects wool buyers to push prices higher as snow, moisture, and fat sheep boost demand and finance becomes easier. The industry should return to normal by fall, with recovery possible by March or April depending on weather.
