Railroads Reach Toward Nevada as Gould Plan Advances
Denver News reports surveys and rights of way west of Salt Lake City toward San Francisco for a new Gould line. The route would pass Eureka Nevada and Walker Pass into the Tulare valley, linking with Central Pacific at Palisade and promising a mining boom with expanded rail access. The plan aligns with Utah and Nevada mineral districts, attracting capital and potentially challenging existing routes.
