Bartine on Silver Question Shows It Remains Lively
J F Bartine of Washington D C writes Reno Journal readers on the enduring silver issue. He traces shifts in party stance from 1896 to the present, arguing Republicans drifted from bimetallism toward gold standards under money power sway, while Democrats retain strong silver sentiment and call out GOP hypocrisy. He concludes Nevada should align with free coinage advocates. A railroad victim and a Humboldt water case are noted in brief.
