Arsenic fetches up to 15 cents per pound at Atlantic ports while larger batches move wholesale. 26 tons derive from Eureka Consolidated and 26 from Rich dumps, with work sorting and loading underway.

U S Officer Shot in Moonshine Battle near Palisade

A Tuesday night gunfight at the old J P Raine ranch seven miles south of Palisade involved U S prohibition officials A Carter and Pete Dubois and accused raine and Jack Bright. Carter was shot through the thigh, Dubois uninjured, and the wounded officer was later moved to St Mary's Hospital Sparks. Authorities say Carter may recover despite possible leg amputation. Raine and Bright face prosecution for liquor law violations.

Canvass of State Returns in 1922 Election Completed

The Supreme Court jtations canvassed the 1922 general election returns yesterday, completing the tally by eight o'clock evening. Minor published total errors were corrected by the official count. In Esmeralda County out of State Printing gained 62 and McNeil 1 for University Regent. Diskin for Attorney General gained 3 in Lincoln County while McCafferty for Inspector of Mines lost 2 in Eureka County.
