Nevada mining station opens January 15
The Government precious metals mining station at the University of Nevada in Reno is slated for formal opening around January 5 with completion expected by January 1. Dr. Lyons and Dr. Cottrell will attend. Staff includes Lind, Coghill, Anderson, Bonardi, Gordon, and Miss Brown. Charles Davis currently leads the station. The move to Reno follows the transfer from the Golden School of Mines, building north of Mackay School of Mines.

Preliminary Hearing Postponed to January 14
The preliminary hearing for L. K. Grimes, charged with shooting Harry Hodge near Reynolds Creek, Eu , has been moved from December 1 after Hodge was released from Austin hospital. Attorney Maestrett consented to the delay, and Justice Burdick set the new date for January 14.

Elko Stockgrower Faces Court Over Smuggling Case

Death of James W Bailey in Reno at 42
News reaches Eureka of James W Bailey passing at his Reno home on Monday. He had been in poor health, died suddenly within an hour. He moved with his wife Annie Regli from Eureka to Reno eight years ago, worked for the Nevada Packing Company, and was a Texas native aged about 42.
