Nevada parcel post in trouble in star routes readvertised

The government re advertised bids for parcel post routes between Winnemucca National and McDermitt and Willow Point Paradise Valley for June 1 1915 to June 30 1918. The Star routes face reforms after contract terminations and alleged abuses, with Fallon Fairview Wonder routes also being readvertised through July 1 1918.

Cigarette License Tax Cuts Occupancy Fees Shown

The last Legislature passed a bill cutting nearly all occupancy tax except for cigarettes and cigarette papers. Vendors will owe tax and a license collector will inspect businesses. $15 per quarter in license fees. Edwin Gladwin, a Reno resident and longtime newspaper correspondent, died in Reno Tuesday night after visiting a lawyer's office for an item, with acute stomach trouble suspected as the cause.
