Eureka Probable Better Mail Service Tested By Rail Line
General Manager J E B Sexton and Master Mechanic Dan Downay tested a new motor car on a Palisade to Eureka run. Aimed for 4 1/2 hours, wind slowed them to seven and a half hours. The return Palisade to Blackbury was 58 minutes. The car carried five passengers and 600 pounds of express, covering 90 miles in 1 30. If the mail contract is taken, a weekly passenger service with alternating motor car trips is planned. A three cylinder 5 horse power car may be purchased if needed.
