Reconstruction prospects for Eureka & Palisade railroad
A March 23 1910 letter from Eureka & Palisade president M L Requa to Eureka Sunriser outlines the rail line’s dire finances and mudded prospects. He cites 1883 dividends, 1900 receivership, $50 000 mortgage, and dependence on Richmond Eureka mining output. He offers the property to the mining company to refinance if a guaranteed ore tonnage is provided, but current prices and prospects fail to support reconstruction.
