John Logan, born in Scotland in 1833, died at his Eugene Oregon home on Ferry street last night around 10 o clock from paralysis. He left five daughters and owned property around Eugene. Executor named is Rev BE A Child. son in law Rev J V Rosewaine was present. Logan was known as a good and respected man admired by local children who called him Father Logan. He had lived in Me Dina Horton ville Endeavor and Oregon before settling in Eugene.

Mrs. Marie Pepiot aged 82 died at Leaburg after a long decline of three years. Widow of Regis Pepiot, she helped run a famous Gate Creek stop and raised ten children with a large family of grandchildren. Surviving children include Annie Pepiot of Walla Walla and several others in Oregon towns. Funeral held Tuesday with interment at Mt Vernon cemetery.

Mrs. B S Beals died at 306 Lawrence street Eugene Monday Sept 3 1906 at eight p m aged 87 years nine months 15 days. She was born Martinsburg New Hampshire December 18 1831 and came to Oregon in 1852 with Edward Baker later first Oregon senator. Survived by two daughters Mrs F A Robbins Oakland California and Mrs Jennie C Jones Seattle plus her son Edward Elliott and husband who aided Hen Holladay on the Oregon and California railroad. For past four years she lived with Mrs Baldwin in Eugene. Miss Miller McCowang 2 died at Grenada Minnesota Aug 4 1906 of diphtheria known to Eugene from a visit here last summer. Also reported at Indian town near Florence the illness of Ivorge Harney known as Indian Barney following a several week illness.
