Taxable Property Values Rise Across Oregon Counties
Government reports suggest total state valuation may reach about 176 million dollars, up roughly 26 million from last year. Counties note increased assessments and new property on rolls, with Oregon's peak previously reached in 1893 at 168 million. The 1901 tax rules capped state tax portions, affecting county incentives to lower values. if 1906 figures reach 175 million, the record will stand again.
