Pleasant Hill residents and neighbors gathered for the annual Picnic noting a crowd estimated at nine hundred to twelve hundred. Speakers Dr Sharpless and Prof Alderman of the U of O delivered notable addresses. Visitors arrived from Jasper, Hyland Bridge, Springfield, and even other states, with river crossings foretelling the need for a bridge or dredging to aid ferry service.
