Mr and Mrs Keeler Gabbert mourn the death of their two year old daughter in Eugene from a dress fire. The child crawled on the floor when flames enveloped her dress and the mother fought to save her with a bedspread. The infant died after four hours. The cause remains uncertain, with speculation about a stove or a nearby auto igniting the clothing.

Death of Mrs Anan Green in German immigrant family
Mrs Anan Green wife of Matthew Green died Saturday January seventeenth in the year one thousand eight between Goshen and Springfield from paralysis. She was fifty years old and leaves a husband and one grown son. The family had recently moved to this country being Germans. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon and the remains were interred in Laurel Hill cemetery.
