Cal coast steamer Sybil Marston driven ashore in fog
The steamship Sybil Marston carrying timber from Gray's Harbor to Redondo ran aground four miles north of Surf in heavy surf. Crew of 22 attempted to abandon ship. at least two drowned, four or five saved. Vessel likely a total loss with salvage of cargo possible.
