George Bryant dies at home near Franklin Lane County Oregon
George Bryant died at his home near Franklin in Lane County Oregon on August 1 1000 aged 7H years three months and there days from congestion of the brain. He was born May 11 1825 at Henley on Thames Oxfordshire England and came to America in 1852 settling first in Iowa. He married Sarah J Smith in 1856 and they had twelve children nine survive him. Surviving children include Emma Crone Lydia Richardson Phoebe Hutler Newton Bryant Frank Bryant George Bryant Edward Bryant Clarence Bryant and Tony Bryant. They moved to Oregon in 1864 crossing the plains with an ox team and farmed there. He leaves wife 18 grandchildren and many friends. A Democrat and well respected citizen funeral held Friday by Rev J C Richardson of Hogen with interment at Inman cemetery.
