CWA COUNTY Workers Move to La Grande Amid Quotas
The county CWA office has no more registrations and will shift office work to La Grande. Rutherford Walker Eggleson and One ney led a party Saturday to confer with state CWA executives. Ruth Cherry visited from Portland with her parents and pursued music while Frances Cherry, recently at Nampa, Idaho, returned for a home visit.

Obituary Muriel French Lachance and local notices
Muriel French Lachance died at her La Grande home after a months long illness. Born Feb 25 1898 in La Grande she married Chester Lachance Aug 28 1928 and lived in Enterprise before moving to La Grande in 1938. Survived by husband two sisters and two brothers. Funeral held in La Grande with burial at Island City. Mrs T A French has moved to Enterprise to live. Methodist Ladies Aid met with 18 attendees and served refreshments. Judge Knowles to preside in Temmerrow circuit court with one noncriminal docket and a suit involving Colonial Construction on Sheep Creek road. Grand jury to meet in March unless called sooner.

Forest building marks 45 years with new repairs and plans
J Wagner and J Harley Hornerinspected the Forest building entrance as John H Gross fitted new wooden boards on the stars. Wagner recalled the original ataia as the Wallowa National Bank erected the building 45 years ago, in 1888. Knights of Pythias Enterprise lodge will meet Jan 11 with reports and business. New Year's baby Betty Jeanne Goraline arrived Jan 1 1984 at the Cronin home in Enterprise.

Dated Enterprise Oregon December 1933 A M PAX, cashier. Shipments of livestock over Sunday include cattle by J B Morgan four decks of lambs by Johnson Franklin two decks of hogs by Applegate Daggett and two decks by the marketing association. A processing tax of 1 cent a pound on hogs live weight applies this month and will rise to 2 cents next month.
