Disappearance of Olen Baal Shocks Wallowa County

Olen Baal, a well known Wallowa County sheepman from the Snake River area, vanished while traveling upstream in a small power boat. His ditches were found on the river bank and the river’s current was blamed for sweeping him away. Baal, born forty years ago in Milton, was an accomplished amateur photographer and had recently moved stock between Lewiston and the Joseph area.
