Mrs Marie E W Tennant known as Grandma Tennant passed away last Wednesday evening around eight after a brief illness from pneumonia following a cold. A longtime Encampment resident she aided neighbors and was fondly remembered for kindness. Funeral services were held at St James church with Encampment chapter of the Eastern Star and Rev Wm H Haupt officiating, followed by burial rites conducted by the O BE O S at the cemetery.
Jake Schmidt and Fred Hopka returned with the season’s biggest buck, weighing about 3800 pounds, killed Tuesday in the mountains south of town. Jake, celebrating his first deer, is proud of his prize.
In Cheyenne this week George Kuntamans serving as a federal grand juror. G H Nichols becomes a new Record subscriber while in town Monday. Key Win Haupt traveled from Cheyenne for Episcopal conference last Friday and conducted the funeral services of Grandia Tennant.

The paper claims thousands of acres await and predicts population could double in a year with community cooperation and inquiries from locals.

W C Ledbetter and Will D’En terre attended Grandma Tennant’s funeral here last Friday. The extreme cold has emptied coal bins and wood piles. J O Wolfard and J J Wom baker headed to the hills earlier this week to spend time cutting timber.
