Doc. Culleton reported from the Lillian mining property that a very valuable copper ore sample was secured. Once shaft repair work finishes, plans will be made to attract capital for development of the property.
Dr Harry Irwin was re elected to the school board at the city hall election held last Monday. Irwin's win secures another term on the board amid local education decisions.
The city and local businessmen publish an attractive tourism folder highlighting Encampment Colorado Wyoming routes, fishing spots, and lodging along the Lincoln highway. The folder, to be distributed regionally, aims to draw visitors this season and notes scenic drives from Tie Siding into the Encampment area. Near the Lillian mine, ore from a vein rich for the district is being extracted despite snow, with operations resuming as weather permits.
State official tests whether to relinquish the French Creek lands as July approaches. Many 320 acre tracts in Encampment valley, near Encampment, are being filed under the Dry Farm act. Restored lands lie idle no longer and will supply homes as homesteaders settle the valley rapidly.
