The board of county commissioners appointed primary election officers for multiple precincts including Saratoga No. 1 at City Hall with judges D. E. Windsor Frank White and K. E. Blood and clerks C. F. Price Florence Peck. Encampment News Roundup Includes Local Visits and Rasping Weather
Mra E C Rhoades and two daughters Myrtle and Genevieve returned home after weeks in Cheyenne and vicinity. Paul Haberl of Denver visited Encampment while fishing in the Encampment country. Ed H Parkison and family came back from Colorado where he noted a very short fruit crop. Mrs Hopka and children returned from drawing visiting relatives Evans and Dolly Hopka. Encampment defeated Hanna 5 to 2 in a local diamond game. Soail team will play Fse boys next Sunday in Encampment. Ralph Pratt reported heavy rain in Beaver Creek, washing bridges and culverts away. J A Reed and family left for Cheyenne Frontier Days, then Kansas. Ruth Platt managed the bank during Reed’s absence. George Kuntzman, secretary to Emerson Motors in New York, says Willis Mimereon heads the firm. Kuntzman wonders if New York favors Encampment. A McKay left for Rawlins for appendicitis operation, Mrs McKay accompanying him. M K Pickett, Republican candidate for sheriff, visited from Rawlins. he had just returned from New Mexico where he aided in capturing home thieves, believing the gang has been broken up with three captured.

Hunting Party Meets Bear Opens Chicken Season
A large town hunting party set out Tuesday for chicken season. Near Toothaker ranch on Beaver Creek eight miles out, sighted a big black bear. With no gun larger than a shotgun, some pursued briefly but retreated when a telephone pole blocked their path.

The seventh annual Carbon county fair will be held at Sara toga on Tuesday and Wednesday September 5 and 6. Secretary Ira B. The Denver office notes 965 predatory animals destroyed on national forests including 814 coyotes and 3 mountain lions. Grazing reports show increases in cattle, horses, and sheep across Colorado and Wyoming, with total livestock numbers and permits rising. Engineer William A.
