S. & E. Train Resumes Run From Walcott After Snow Clearing
The S. & E. railroad restarted Tuesday evening as the first train from Walcott since January 19. Locals including Kenne campment businessmen ranchers and citizens shoveled snow to reopen tracks between Encampment and Saratoga. The train carried feed merchandise and coal, easing shortages and likely ensuring daily service if wrashouts and high water stay down. Hundreds of cattle have starved in the valley and vicinity, and the Tuesday shipment may save many more.
