A Splendid Work of Art The 1921 Welch Calendar
The Echo reports the 1921 Welch Haffner calendar from Denver under Brock Haffner lineage. A four color reproduction shows Snowmass Lake and Snowmass Mountain in Holy Cross National Forest, Gilpin County, Colorado titled The End of the Trail. Welch Haffner installs the largest two color press west of Chicago to print on sheets 46 by 70 inches, claiming the plant will be the region’s best equipped engraving and printing shop between Chicago and the Pacific coast. Wm Mayne visited town from Big Creek, where he is cutting timber.

Poor History and Poor Boost for Platte Valley
A Cheyenne Tribune piece by W. L. Lindeman Saratoga Wyoming criticizes Morse Bros plan to abandon the railroad, arguing the Platte valley relies on rail service. It cites limited traffic but disputes it, and highlights mining history and future sugar beet, stock country potential. The piece urges higher payments to correspondents to curb such publicity.
