New Livestock Association Formed at Laramie
BHleyén of the eighteen cattle and horse grazing permittees of the Sevenmile district of the Medicine Bow forest were present or represented at a meeting in the forest supervisor's office at Laramie last Saturday. They organized the Sevenmile Stock Association to include permittees of Centennial Ridge North Work Sevenmile and Rok Creek Divide grazing units. Milking Costs in Nebraska Farms Studied by USDA
The USDA and University of Nebraska surveyed two one-year periods to determine costs of producing market milk in eastern Nebraska. Data show seasonal costs for concentrates dry roughage silage and pasture, plus labor and depreciation on cows. Incomes in winter generally covered costs, with higher summer costs. results reflect the management style of the studied section and may differ in other regions.
