Miss Gertrude Syverton died after a short illness of influenza and mania at the Jones home on October 28 1918 Though a newcomer she had made many friends during a few weeks teaching in the local school Her home was Ville ND and the body will be moved later to that location for burial in Linton cemetery The community extends sympathy to her bereaved parents who came too late to bid her farewell.

Order release of questionnaires in selective service

Washington Oct 18 Questionnaires for ages 18 and 20 and 32 to 36 were ordered released by Provost Marshal General Crowder in all local board districts where other groups have been classified. This will affect more than half the territory in the United States and progress is ahead of expectations. Local boards must release 10 percent per day.
