District Court Opens October Term with Citizenship Petitions
The October term of district court opened with many naturalization hearings and a plan to delay jury service to reduce county costs. Judge Winchester and Clerk Rooks rescheduled court to the 22nd. Tuesday covered citizenship swearing for numerous applicants, while a petition by Gustav Jergantz was canceled after a witness misstatement. A murder-aliation case against John Cole ended in acquittal after a long trial, and Veronica Keller sued Frank Frison for breach of promise. The Pioneer Express comments on political endorsements, signaling reluctance about the primary results.
