Notices and incidents across North Dakota and Emmons county report thefts and a large livery barn fire, local court actions, farm and school updates, agricultural college news, and several homestead final proofs and land notices. Includes Hazelton happenings with town life in Linton and Strasburg, plus farm economy notes on barley and crops.
A Bradock note reports a steamer crash near town with a machine south of the town at 1 o clock. It notes theresh thrashed full time and JOM Wirth planning a California winter. Dr Welsh store trig finish described as Cirpe coat. Cattle shipments from Bradock likely higher this season. The News will publish figures. A saddle horse carries a shotgun and two items.
The Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul Railway extends into South Dakota and North Dakota with over 100 miles laid along the Pacific coast extension. Lemmon in Butte County is among new towns. Hettinger in Adams County opens Oct 24 1907 with lot auctions. Bowman in Bowman County to follow. Regular service from Ombridge to Lemmon began Oct 6 with Aberdeen connections.
The seller proposes moving seven head of milk cows for winter use some of which will yield milk through winter. Payment in good rice and proper care. Also offering eighteen head of mixed cattle for sale. Location: W. B. Andrus, sixteen miles northwest of Pollock on the stage road to Fort Yates.
First Bank of Linton North Dakota advertises real estate money to loan on good farm lands for three to five years.
United States Land Office announces Edward Logue J B 6006 seeks final proof for the north half of northeast section 4 township 1 north range 77 west in Emmons County North Dakota. He will prove residence and cultivation October 22 1907 at Linton before Charles B Carley ex officio clerk. Witnesses: Bert Chase Faddie Brooks Walter Krick Asa M Hunts. M H Jewell Register.
In pursuance of a July order by Judge Charles B. Carley the administrator of Jacob Schmaltz estate will sell at public auction on October 26 at 2 oclock in Linton ND at the courthouse. The land is the Northwest quarter of section 27 township 131 north range 77 west Fifth P.M. Sale to be to highest cash bidder subject to court confirmation. Dated October 2. Administrator Joan Kramer.
Department of the Interior contest notice alleges John J. Vanmillen contests homestead entry 1136 filed July 1, 1908 for the SE of section 14, township 10 north, range 1 east. Abandonment, lack of residence, and no improvements cited. hearing set November 2, 2007 in Linton, with publication ordered when service cannot be completed. JoAn Sattelund, Receiver.
Administratrix of Minnie Hendersons estate announces a public sale by auction on November 2, 1907 at 2 PM. The land described lies in Emmons County North Dakota near Linton and Winchester and will be offered for cash subject to court confirmation. The sale follows an August 24 1907 order by Judge Charles B Carley.
