Connecticut voters approved prohibition by three to one. John H Worst, longtime county superintendent of schools, won a strong majority in the 26th senatorial district. Known as an old newspaper man, Worst is expected to be a fair legislator and a staunch defender of press rights in the upper house.
Emmons county voters frustrated by high license opponents face a mandate for strict enforcement. The Recoup urges forceful action with no homeropathic measures and calls for iron clad prohibition laws backed by vigorous enforcement to curb intemperance and restore public order.
