John Bosch Dies in Emmons County Age 64
John Bosch an early Emmons county settler died Saturday March 9 at his home from brain fever after recent headaches and a nose operation in February. A German Russian veteran of the czar's body guard he lived 25 years in the United States, born 1864 in Krem Russia. He leaves a wife four children seven brothers and three sisters. Funeral Mass held at 10 am in the Catholic church with Father Sailor officiating and interment in the Catholic cemetery.

Eight St Paul Socialists Sentenced to Long Prisons
Camp Dodge Iowa March 11 Found guilty by a general court martial of refusing to obey orders from National Army men from St Paul eight socialists were sentenced to long terms at Leavenworth. Broms received twenty years while seven others were given twenty five years each. All are natives of the United States or Sweden and had declared intent to become citizens. They refused to register for the draft in 1918 and were tried in federal court before being moved to Camp Dodge.
