The Forum expands to all classes with a broad circulation and heavy advertising. It critiques the shift from license to prohibition and notes opposition by four justices to the federal tax on big incomes, citing Justice Harlan and Justice Brown’s dissent on wealth and taxation.
The Fargo Argus assails Walkers of Fargo as only a conduit for bids while praising the North Dakota choice to award printing the state job to the Bismarck Tribune. The Record endorses Newton Amidon and Corbett for choosing a local firm with local taxes and wages fostering state benefit.
It is reported the President will nominate Melville E. Stone of Chicago for the position of Secretary of State, marking a major executive appointment in the current administration.

N L Sherman of Emmonsburg is preparing a grave site at Beaver's mouth and laying out a race track for a big Fourth of July celebration. A bowery dance in the afternoon and a hall dance at night will precede a picnic dinner on the grounds. Pemcecoahare is noted as a central county point and all are invited.
John Wedderburn & Co. of Washington advertise for inventors, promising up to 1800 to whoever secures a valid patent. The firm touts years of patent law experience and diligence in protecting client ideas. The publisher notes stake as a stockholder and suggests consulting them when applying for letters patent.

June 4 Record notes a young flood sweeping the region Sunday night into Monday with reports of boats built to escape rising water. Rev Arthur Currie preached a memorial sermon at the Presbyterian church. Company A and the G A R post attended. The Mills Beech trial proceeds in Bismarck, accusing Beech and others of assaulting W J Fraleigh. Deputy Marshal Livermore reports three settlers caught stealing government pros near Fort Lincoln. harsher consequences expected than for prior arrestees. The Northern Pacific land department will reduce contract interest from 7 to 6 percent starting June 1. reappraisal of all railway lands may lower prices by about one third to spur rapid settlement.

On May 25, 1895 two ponies were left in pasture at the Record Ranch 1% miles northeast of Williamsport. A white gelding of advanced age weighing about 700 pounds and unbranded and a bay mare, four years old, also about 700 pounds, branded F on the left shoulder and and D on the left hip. The owner may call to claim by paying charges.
