Farmer converts wheat to hogs gains in Illinois area

A Central Illinois farmer, reluctant to sell wheat at prevailing prices, fed fat hogs with soaked wheat and some corn. Weighing grain and hogs, he calculated 35 cents per bushel for wheat and four cents per pound for fat hogs, claiming the experiment yielded $1 004 bushels and higher returns than selling wheat directly.
