They built a ranch from little: teaching for $26 a month, buying relinquishments, founding a store, and becoming postmistress. Ninety-Four Soldiers Found Guilty In Houston Riot Case
Of sixty three black soldiers from the 24th Infantry tried by court martial at Fort Sam Houston Texas, thirteen were hanged on the military reservation, forty one sentenced to life imprisonment, one dishonorable discharge with forfeiture of pay and allowances and two and a half years confinement, three to dishonorable discharge with forfeiture and hard labor, and the rest acquitted.
