A major blast hit Hazelton when two barrelfuls of gasoline in E A Klabunde’s cellar ignited after a match was struck by a boy named Ben Klabunde. He suffered severe burns while attempting to escape via the elevator as the building’s front glass blew out. Fire crews saved the structure with hand extinguishers and buckets of water. Ben remains seriously injured but not believed to be fatally hurt. his family and town express sympathy. The incident could have demolished nearby buildings if the tank had exploded.
