Dr J F Herrick longtime Ottumwa physician and former Iowa State Medical Society president died last Thursday after 42 years of practice. He served as a major in the U S medical corps and headed a base hospital in France during World War I. Mr and Mrs Wesley Pierson of Russie observed their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday.

Teachers Face Delayed Pay in County Townships

County Treasurer E. H. Hanson says teachers in Gwan Lake and High Lake townships may not receive full salaries this month due to funds being tied up in Wallingford and Estherville banks. One bank closed and the other operates under new state law. The deficit is expected to be wiped out in March.
