Park playground project to run summer program for children
The Chamber of Commerce will operate a supervised playground at Superpark this summer for all area children. Ed Cilar will supervise activities including baseball, football, soccer, darts, and volleyball with boys and girls earning small prizes. Registration is set for Monday to Wednesday at 7 30 p.m. at Super Park. participants aged 6 to 24 can join by listing name, sport interest, and parent names.

Painting Crew Ordered Away After Accident

Auto thief crashes into pole while taking Hanson car
Paul Cookingham, 23, known to Hanson, took Roy Bani’s Plymouth from Hanson’s garage in Emmishuty and drove off with Hanson’s two young daughters. He crashed on South Palmer street snapping the pole. uninjured, the two children and Cookingham were later detained by Sheriff Miller at a tavern. Burns Fatal To Anderson Girl Of Graettinger
Arlene Anderson age yearold of Graettinger died in Mason City Hospital after a grease fire at the Anderson farm May 14. She and sister Judy were playing house when clothing ignited and she escaped briefly before fatally burning. Funeral services Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Tarn and 2 p.m. at Presbyterian church Ringsted with burial in Emmetsburg cemetery. She was a niece of Mrs. Gorston Worster of Rinmetshure.
