Glean Your Sidewalks Duty for Snow Cleansing
The city ordinance makes the street commissioner responsible for clearing snow from all walks if owners fail to act promptly. He need not issue notices, as time is valuable and owners know their duties. A standing order to enforce the ordinance and tax neglected properties reinforces the duty. If sidewalks aren’t cleaned, blame yourselves, not the street commissioner, who must perform his duty without favoritism.
