Joe Lowe of Algona was elected president for 1938 37 with Luke Linnan of Algona as vice president and Guy Garmichsel of Emmetsburg reelected secretary treasurer. About 100 attorneys and families attended a banquet and dance. Judge P F Farville and Congressman Fred G Gilchrist spoke brief addresses. Musicians Mrs E H Soper and Martha Helen Kelson performed. counties represented included Buena Vista Calhoun Grey Dickinson Emmet Humboldt Kossuth Pocahontas and Palo Alto.
Orange City College basketball team defeated Emmetsburg Junior College 42 to 37 in Orange City Friday night. The visitors led 22 to 16 at halftime, then used height to regain the lead. Firkins scored 18 for Emmetsburg. Krass added 17 for Orange City as the locals won a clean contest.
