Lake Erie and Pittsburg Railway Contract Awarded
Secretary Lyong of the Lake Ers and Pittsburg Railroad announced that the contract to build the Lake Erie and Pittsburg Railway from Lorain to Youngstown was awarded in Pittsburgh to William Kenetick and Co. Contractors will survey next week and begin work this fall if weather allows. The line, built by Pittsburgh New York and Chicago capitalists, will operate as an independent line and provide Lorain access to several carriers including Lake Shore and Pennsylvania with interchange rights between routes.

Burglary at gas works machine shop on Friday night
Burglars entered the gas works machine shop by breaking a window and forcing the door, stealing about fifty dollars of tools. Collision near North Olmstead injures gravel train and car
A Friday morning collision near North Olmstead involved passing car No 03 and a gravel train active in the area for weeks. Conductor Berty Johnson and Motorman Fred Harrmaon led car 5d from Elyria at 7 30. The only damage was a broken vestibule on car 63 and the gravel motor front. The adjuster Mr McKisson declined to discuss the incident.

Infant dies of Patrick Flannigan’s son on Elm Street
Infant Henry Edward Flannigan, son of Patrick Flannigan, died Saturday morning at the family home on Elm Street. A twin sister of the child, who previously died, was buried. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made.

Pioneer LH Penfield Dies in Oberlin Residence
Lorain county pioneer LH Penfield died Friday at 8 15 am at his South Main Street home in Oberlin. Born February 1 1838 in Harpersfield New York he helped his father clear the surrounding country as a young man. The Panfield family was among the first settlers and Panfield township bears their name. The funeral was held Monday at 10 o'clock in the morning.

City Council Adopts Budget Move for Massay Avenue Bridge
The council adjourned after approving a $17,000 loan to cover the Massay avenue bridge project. SB Day and Lee Day deeded land at Earl court end for highway use.
