Lorain County Fair 1906 Reflections by Richard Baker
Pioneer farmer Richard Baker offers impressions of the 1906 Lorain County Fair comparing attendance and exhibits with earlier years. He notes larger crowds, shifts in livestock quality, grain and fruit displays, fewer cattle entries, strong Hereford and Jersey entries, dwindling Ayreshires, and improvements in farm implements and racing horses. He suggests an exhibition ring, more usable space south of purchases, and better crowd control around halls and stands.

The railroad already has a third of the distance double tracked and owns most right of way for the rest. Funding comes from a 200 million dollar bond issue approved by stockholders in Chicago.
