Lorain Engineer Killed by Express
A Lorain engineer on a switch engine died this morning when, after exiting his cab to watch for an arriving express, he was struck by the train. The 29 year old man, identified as Sharp, lived near the plant workers at the Columbia Steel Company. He had been employed on the hatch line and was awaiting an express at Derby siding, 15 miles west of Buffalo, when killed. He left his cab amid noise and steam and was struck on the track. He is survived by a widow and friends in the railroad community. The Columbia Steel Company stockholders are called to a meeting November 27 at 9 A.M. at Elyria factory to discuss dissolution and surrender of the charter.
