Townsfolk Weathered Flood Amid Akron Rescue Ordeal
In a harrowing flood, Frederick and Mrs. Frederick’s family endured rising waters in Akron. The couple sheltered in a cottage as four blocks of city water fell, then escaped attic routes via a sheet tied to safety. Rescued family members describe swift currents, splashes, and a forced harbor in the home’s upper level before finally reaching safety as water receded.
